Hashtag Midtown- The BozeHome City Commission Spotlight | 5-02-16
Hang on to your seats Bozeman, there is a lot of change happening at the City Commission this Monday May 2 (deuce de mayo). We have all been paying attention to the rezoning efforts to the Midtown district, that runs along scenic North 7th Street from Main to Oak. The current zoning proposals call for a change that will allow for all future development along N 7th to be similar to that of the Historic Main Street in Downtown Bozeman (currently zoned B3). The new proposals for B2M and R-5 districts zoning amendments call for buildings to be situated closer to the street, with a 12′ setback, and an overall higher density to allow for urban infill. Parking shall be required to be placed to the side, rear, below, or above storefronts, as it typically seen on Main Street. This is a massive change from the current requirements that have produced the strip mall sprawl that we are witness to today.
Here is what we at BozeHome are taking note of at the upcoming Bozeman City Commission meeting for 5-2-2016 (deuce de mayo). This Monday the City Commissioners and staff met to discuss several items on the city docket. The four consent items to be approved relate to current city accounts payable, a Gallagator Trail right-of-way easement at 1414 S Willson, the continued Story Mill Landfill fallout, and some temporary construction easements on Baxter Ln. The most notable of action items the commissioners with vote on deal with the zoning and redevelopment of N 7th Ave, commonly known as Midtown finance district.
