Midtown Adoption + Water & Sewer Rates
The Bozeman City Commission | Monday August 21 – 6:00 pm
City Hall Bozeman Montana #406-59715
The Midtown Bozeman Adoption
Adoption of Resolution 4781 – Midtown Bozeman
The 2015 Midtown Bozeman Urban Renewal District Plan provided broad goals and strategies for addressing conditions of blight within the Midtown Urban Renewal District (MURD) and encouraging private investment within the District.
Since the MURD, created in 2006, has four remaining years to identify its first major project for bonding, identifying specific projects to maximize public benefit for the MURD and the City is essential.
Identifying these projects and how they are used to attract private investment is the purpose of the Midtown Urban Renewal District Action Plan 9the Action Plan).
The Intent
“The intent of this plan is to attract targeted private investment by leveraging the market potential of the Midtown District, and removing barriers to development through strategic infrastructure investments and incentives.
This is especially important for this District as the city does not own any property and is reliant on cooperation and collaboration with property owners to realize the vision for this area.
The Water + The Sewer
Expect a increase of 2% for Water, and a 2% increase for wastewater services
The Water | During the budget development process, the Commission considered increases to water rates. The Approved Budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 included proceeding with Water Rate increases of 2% in FY18.
This increase is for only one year due to a rate survey to be conducted the second quarter of FY18. The rate increases are needed to support the operating, capital, and debt service budgets for the Water Fund, as well as provide adequate cash flow and reserves for our water utility.
All of the Metered and Unmetered Water fees would be increased by 2%, effective on the September 1, 2017 bills.
